PGENESIS Release History

  • 2/1/06 PGENESIS 2.3 released (updated documentation and bug fixes to 2.3beta).
  • 10/31/05 PGENESIS 2.3beta released.  Interprocessor communication may be done using either PVM or MPI.  This version is for use with serial GENESIS 2.3beta.  See the retrieval instructions.
  • 10/31/00 PGENESIS 2.2 released. This version is needed for use with serial GENESIS 2.2.
  • 8/22/97 PGENESIS 2.1 released.
  • 7/1/97 PGENESIS 2.0 released.
  • 3/5/97 Web documentation on asynchronous simulation, which can be much faster.
  • 2/28/97 PGENESIS 2.0 fixes many bugs (and no doubt introduces some new ones!), as well as providing these new features:
  • Intel Paragon supported
  • support for XPVM, allowing dynamic visualization of how PGENESIS is utilizing a parallel platform (not T3D or Paragon)
  • the lookahead optimization for network models which incorporate axonal delays
  • rudimentary performance monitoring capability
  • 1/31/97 "waiton all" is now the only way to ensure that asynchronous operations have completed. In particular, barriers and steps do not wait for these completions any longer.
  • 1/31/97 "clearthread" is a new command that accepts a single request from a remote node and processes it. This is necessary to implement message-passing style control of simulations.
  • 9/96 Currently a few selected projects may have the formal application process waived
